The gorgeous model is presented in a round case with a diameter of 45 mm and a thickness of 14.35 mm in 18-carat pink gold.
The multi-level dial, made of gold, is guilloche by hand and has the blued hands.
The glass ball with a diameter 21.40 mm, placed at the 6 o’clock position on the top and bottom of the case, is equipped with a regulator, and a balanced gyroscope. It maintains a horizontal position at all times, by the illuminated, which normally rotates in gyros.
These gyroscopes were first developed in the early 1500-s. Gernolamo Cardano. Due to such illumination, the object can be rotated in several dimensions.
On the main dial at the 12 o’clock position is set a ring-shaped silver sub-dial with Roman numerals in black and with two hands, designed to indicate the hours and minutes.
At the 9 o’clock position is a small window with a second’s hand, and at the 4 o’clock position - the power reserve indicator in a semicircular silver analog pointer.
A sapphire crystal protects the dial; it is set also on the back cover.
The watch is water resistant to 30 meters. The crown, which is located at the 3 o’clock position, is decorated with the Zenith’s logo.
The new Academy Christophe Colomb Hurricane watch is built based on the manufacturing caliber El Primero 8805 with hand winding. The mechanism in diameter of 37 mm and a thickness of 5.85 mm, consisting of 939 components, is assembled by 53 jewels, has a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour and 50-hour power reserve.
